Rigs: Bottom
Fishing:
Hook first bottom fishing rig allows for the hook to freely bounce up and down off the bototm with the current.
Drift
Fishing:
The lightest weight goes closest to the hook and as you moive further away the split shot get heavier. Typically the splitshot are spaced 1/2 to 1 inch apart. Weight is determined by depth of water and speed of current - more current = more weight. |

Specialized rigs: Mackeral
Rig:
Its important that the terminating diamond jig is heavy enough to cast a good distance but not so heavy as to constantly snag bottom on the retreive. Any heavy lead lure can be substituted for the diamond jig. For Terminating Jig I typically use:
